McDonough's General Store, Ainsworth Street, Liverpool

Hello,

I don't know whether you can help me or point me in the right direction.  I am looking for any information with regards to the general store that was located in Ainsworth Street, Liverpool during the 50's and 60's.  I believe it was run by the McDonough family. Daniel & Margaret (Mary).

Ideally I would like a photograph of the shop.

Kind Regards

Carl Wilson

  1. I too have been searching for old photographs of Ainsworth St., Liverpool, as my g-grandmother, Norah Sullivan, was the proprietor of the Beer House at No. 17/19 in the late 1800's/early 1900's.

During my search online of the National Archives, I came across the following, curious, entry that followed on from a reference relating to Norah Sullivan: "Photo album purchased from second hand shop 9/7/02 - M380PWK/4/10 c.1900-1950's".

I've not explored this any further, but it could be that the general store referred to above is depicted.
