Wm Edmonds &co [or son] Liverpool
I have in my possession a sealed bottle of what we believe to be some sort of alcahol manufactured by Wm Edmonds &co [or son] Liverpool. Family hearsay is that it arrived with ance.stors in 1843.
I am endeavouring to trace any information on this company to try and determine just what is in the bottle.
We feel it could be a wine as it is sealed with a wire and a lead seal.
This company,s logo is a pig. I am not sure if you can help but any information would be greatfully received. Thanking you Raylene Partridge 6 Noble Close Singleton N.S.W. Australia

Penton Street
Hi,
I wonder if you could help me. I was wondering if you had any photographs or information about Penton Street around 1900 or know where I may find some. I know the street no longer exists, but it used to run from Upper Baker Street to Cambria Street.
Thank you very much
Kind Regards
Louise

Sir William Brown
Dear Sir, i have two questions:
1)I noticed on the internet that there was an article about Sir William Brown by Mary Hall in the 2006 edition of your journal. I am very interested in finding out about him as he may be a relative on my husband's mother's side. Could you possibly let me have a photocopy of this article. I will of course refund you the cost.
2) I am secretary of the Basque Children of '37 Association UK, and am trying to find out as much as I can about the colonies or homes that the children stayed in from 1937-1939. I know that they stayed at Greenbank, Upton Village, Birkenhead, and that in Liverpool they were in Nazareth House and a Catholic Girls' Orphanage. I wonder if anyone in your society has ever done any research on these homes and the whole story of the Basque children who came to Liverpool. Do you have any information or suggestions about where I couls find out specifically about the Liverpooll area. (Our web site is www.basquechildren.org if you would like to look it up. ) I myself often give talks to history societies about the Basque children, but I have nothing about Liverpool. I would be most grateful for any assistance on this fascinating subject.
Thank you for your help on both fronts
Yours
Natalia Benjamin

Hello,
Does anyone know anything about Fulwood House, Aigburth Road, Toxteth. I think it was an Institute for poor children. Also I'd like to know if children from here were sent to work on farms in Canada. It is on the 1891 census. Also do you know where the Records are?
Thanks
