Information required on Sgt Thomas Leonard Lever from Wavertree

Hi,

Can you help me or at least point me to someone who may be able to?

I have been researching the crash of Wellington bomber T2905 in Bristol on 30^th April 1941 and have produced a website about the crash. My grandfather, Charles John Clarke, was the front gunner and died in the crash. Two of the other five crew died in the crash and I have been trying to trace any of their surviving relatives. One of them, Sgt Thomas Leonard Lever, according to the RAF was from Wavertree. All I know about him is from his gravestone (see photo below), which is in Toxteth Park Cemetary (Sec. 8. Cons. Grave 671) . I also have a photo of him (see below).

I'm researching my family history and trying to find out more about my gt grandfather, who is listed as a nurse child in Liverpool in the 1871 census and then as an adopted son in 1881. I've been trying, so far without success, to learn more about nurse child/adoption practices in Liverpool at the time and wondered if anyone associated with the LHS would be able to help.

Need information on Chadwick 1725 map

I was curious to know if you know of anyone or maybe yourself that may know anything about this map... I have a few questions, like how many originals were made, did they ever make reproductions, how can I tell if this map is authentic. There is an antique store here in the states, the owner is from England and is selling this map she says it is original but I doubt it. Thank you for your help.

Jane Alice Weightman (1864-1937)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am an Assistant Curator for National Museums Liverpool and I am researching a Jane Alice Weightman (1864-1937) who left a large collection of Chinese ceramics to the Corporation of Liverpool upon her death in 1937. As any evidence of Miss Weightmans further interest in Chinese decorative arts has proven difficult to find I have conducted a wider search on her immediate family who were of some great significance.

Jane Alice's Grandfather John Weightman for example was an Alderman and Head of the Finance Committee, overseeing the management of the building of the Walker, St Georges Hall and Municipal Buildings. The brothers William Arthur and Septimus Rigby were prominent Liverpool Lawyers (Weightman, Peddar and Co) and another brother Alfred Ernest was a well respected fleet surgeon. The youngest brother Percy Octavious was a member of the Historical Society for Lancashire and Cheshire.

Would it be possible to find out if the society has any information regarding this family, or Jane Alice Weightman in particular? From what I have been able to uncover of the family they took an active interest in history and the arts, and several members left collections to the Museum during the first half of the 20th century - if seems unlikely that I am the first person to research this family. I am following up a number of enquiries, but once all research has been gathered I would certainly be happy to submit my findings to the society should you wish to keep a record of the Weightman family for future use/research.

I wonder if you could help me with some research into our family history?

In my father's line, Worthington, I find a great Grandmother, an Elizabeth Rigby Sayer. This lady, I am told, is part of the Sayers Bakers family, and indeed two or three of the male members of Dad's family were employed as "Bakers Shop assistant", "Flourman", "Baker".

I see that the Sayers business was incorporated into a much biger Group of Companies, Lyndale Foods, who are still based in the area.

If it is possible, can anyone please give me a lead as to where I might get more information, or does anyone in your Society have any interests in this connection.

In the 1920's, my Grandfather Worthington was a coal merchant in the Princess Park area, and I believe his horses were entered into a local show, and won prizes as shire horses. I would like to know of any records of either his business and the name of the Show and his prizes.
