Hello Rob,

I am doing my family tree, and I am finding it hard to get intouch with anyone who worked at the deysbrook community centre up to about 1970.

My Great Grandfather used to do some work there and he met his second wife Florence, but cannot seem to find out who she was, they married when he was about 70, but since then they have both died and the centre has shut down, could you possibly help in any way at all?

love Jules x

Ray & Miles Cabinet Makers

I am interested in finding some information on Ray & Miles Cabinet
Makers located in Liverpool through I believe the mid to late 19th
century. We have a pair of ball room chairs and wondered if we could
obtain any information to their history and value. We are considering
donating them to a local charity in Niagara on the Lake Ontario. I
know this is a long shot but if you may have any information it would
be greatly appreciated.

History of Socialism and Socialist Heritage in Liverpool

Dear Sir/Madam

My name is Dieter Loots and I study history at the University of Gent
in Belgium. For finalizing my three bachelor years I'm writing an essay about
Red(socialist) Heritage in Liverpool.

For that I'm looking for scientific literature about the history of
socialism and socialist heritage in Liverpool. I am looking for the
buildings that where build or fund by the socialist party. Which are
socialist?s buildings or places and what was their purpose in the past
and to-day?

Perhaps you can give me some titles and authors or some names of some
information about buildings that are very useful for my study.

Thanks in advance

Kind regards
Dieter

C. Tinling & Co of Liverpool

Good Evening

I collect childrens books, specifically those by W.E. Johns (Biggles etc). These were published mainly by Hodder and Stoughton and Brockhampton Press but printed by C. Tinling and Co of Liverpool until 1958 when they must have moved to Prescott where they continued to print W.E. Johns books until the 70's. As a collector I come across unusual printings of volumes for which little or no information exists, in such cases I attempt to fill in the gaps and pass the information on to other collectors. Ideally I would like to know if Tinling kept records of their work and whether such records still exist and are accessible. I live in Fife but any pointers in the right (or any) direction would be much appreciated.

The Queens Buildings Birkenhead

Please can you help me?

I am trying to trace the whereabouts of The Queens Buildings Birkenhead which I believe was demolished to make way for the first Mersey Tunnel, although I may be completely wrong about that? Are there any publications I can check? My mother was born there and I plan to visit the area for a Family History Search later this month.

Many Thanks
